Born in Santo Domingo, Gwen – as she is known here – found her vocation at a very young age, inspired by what she inherited from her grandmother, mother and aunts.

In 2016, she was called to represent the Dominican Republic as their gastronomic ambassador in the Dominican Cuisine Festival, held over a period of 10 days in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  While there, she also found herself responsible for the Grulac (Latin American and Caribbean Ambassadors Group) lunches, for their annual luncheon. Equally, while there, she was the visiting chef at the Universidad Agricola del Zamorano to advise their cooking staff, providing new recipes that are adaptable to student numbers and nutritional requirements. She participated with the Dominican team in the Annual Countries Fair, aside from making a private dinner for the Vice-Chancellor of the university.

I am inspired by a date, a feeling, the colour of some foods, music, a smell that reminds me of something.
