Biography

Born in Teruel in 1979. Life, studies and work dedicated to the world of wine although his first vocation was to be a cook. Since 2007 he runs his own restaurant named Yain (wine in Hebrew), in his hometown. A few months ago he achieved a great and long-awaited achievement in his professional career: the Advanced Sommelier of the Court of Master Sommelier's Education Program, a stepping stone to the renowned title of Master Sommelier.

  • Raúl runs his own restaurant called Yain, in the city of Teruel.
  • Holds the Advanced Sommelier of the Court of the Master Sommelier.
  • He has been awarded twice as the best summiler in Spain at the International Wine Challenge (IWC). 
  • In 2010 he was elected best sommelier at the San Sebastian Gastronomika international congress.
  • Academician by the Aragonese Academy of Gastronomy.
